But there\u2019s a flip side to this theory that was tackled this week by the \u201cYou\u2019re the Boss Blog\u201d in <i>The New York Times<\/i>. A recent blog post discussed how much can be gained <a href=\"http:\/\/boss.blogs.nytimes.com\/2013\/07\/24\/the-value-of-saying-no\/#more-77344\">simply by saying, \u201cNo.\u201d <\/a><\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s often heard that in your personal life, saying, \u201cNo,\u201d is a good way to keep yourself from being overextended. By agreeing to every volunteer opportunity or doing every favor, you can tend to lose focus on what\u2019s truly important in your life. In business, a related theory holds true. Whether you are a new CMEA or an established one, know what you\u2019re good at. Find your niche market and become an expert.
