Unfortunately, this move will leave about 300 workers jobless. Early in November, the company also announced its plans to close its Maryville, Missouri, plant. These plant closures are party of the company\u2019s reaction to the global trend toward rechargeable batteries.<\/p>\n<p>Stories like these are all too common these days, and while it is terrible to see people lose their jobs, plant closures can provide a great deal of opportunity for CMEAs. Every piece of equipment in those two factories will have to be appraised before it is sold, moved to another Energizer facility, or recycled.
