Here&#8217;s a closer look at some of the factors that should be taken into consideration when choosing your purchasing certification training.<\/p>\n<p>We often receive questions asking about the difference between the <a href=\"https:\/\/lms.nextlevelpurchasing.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">CPO Certification<\/a> and the CPIM certification.\u00a0\u00a0The comparison is actually pretty simple.<\/p>\n<div class=\"fusion-title title fusion-title-2 fusion-sep-none fusion-title-text fusion-title-size-three fusion-border-below-title\">\n<h6 class=\"title-heading-left\">What does CPO stand for?<\/h6>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"fusion-text fusion-text-2\">\n<p>Certified Procurement Operations. The CPO Suite Programs are distinct by both name and curricula. Each CPO Suite Credential offers validation and recognition for critical procurement and purchasing skill sets at their respective levels.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>The CPO in &#8220;CPO Certification&#8221; stands for \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/lms.nextlevelpurchasing.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Certified Procurement Operations<\/a>,\u201d and the Next Level Purchasing Association awards it<strong>.<\/strong> It is an appropriate certification program for individuals in purchasing and supply management:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>purchasing managers<\/li>\n<li>buyers<\/li>\n<li>procurement specialists<\/li>\n<li>supply chain managers<\/li>\n<li>contracting agents<\/li>\n<li>sourcing representatives, etc.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Over the last 20 years, NLPA has had what is known as the SPSM certifications. This conferred purchasing and procurement professionals with the tools they need to be successful by growing and enhancing their careers. On 2\/15\/21, we announced our CPO Suite Programs\u2019 release, an enhanced version of our SPSM certifications.<\/p>\n<h6 class=\"title-heading-left\">Certified Procurement Operations<\/h6>\n<p>NLPA is the only place where you can access the globally recognized CPOS, CPOP, CPOM and CPOE Certifications. The CPO Suite Programs are distinct by both name and curricula. Each CPO Suite Credential offers validation and recognition for critical procurement and purchasing skill sets at their respective levels. The different certification programs are:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>CPOS stands for Certified Procurement Operations Specialist, and it is our level 1 certification program. It covers the \u201cEssential Procurement Skills\u201d.<\/li>\n<li>CPOP stands for Certified Procurement Operations Professional, and it is our level 2 certification program. The path to earning the CPOP Credential involves completing the CPOS program and being in \u201cgood standing.\u201d<\/li>\n<li>CPOM stands for Certified Procurement Operations Manager, and it is our level 3 certification program.<\/li>\n<li>CPOE stands for Certified Procurement Operations Executive, and it is our level 4 certification program.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>All four (4) levels of the CPO Suite Programs follow NLPA&#8217;s CPO \u2013 Body of Knowledge (CPO-BOK).
