{"id":3309,"date":"2014-06-17T08:30:00","date_gmt":"2014-06-17T08:30:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.certitrek.com\/nlpa\/2014\/06\/17\/the-evolution-of-procurement-software\/"},"modified":"2021-07-08T07:08:41","modified_gmt":"2021-07-08T11:08:41","slug":"the-evolution-of-procurement-software","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.certitrek.com\/nlpa\/blog\/the-evolution-of-procurement-software\/","title":{"rendered":"The Evolution of Procurement Software"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I hope that you have enjoyed the article, \u201c10 Types of Procurement Software, Part I.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Don\u2019t miss updates on Procurement &amp; Supply Chain, Subscribe here!<\/p>\n<p>I didn\u2019t realize it, but it had been almost nine years since I had done my last PurchTips exploring the broad procurement software landscape.\u00a0 That was with an article entitled \u201cSpend Management Technology Trends,\u201d and featured some quotes from another procurement blog survivor and colleague of mine, Jason Busch of Spend Matters.<\/p>\n<p>Though I have written articles about different types of individual procurement solutions, such as eProcurement and eSourcing, today\u2019s article was the first to cover the broader procurement technology market.\u00a0 Back in June 2005, there were only about four major subsets of the procurement software market worth covering:\u00a0 eProcurement, eSourcing, Spend Analytics (now more commonly referred to as <a href=\"https:\/\/www.certitrek.com\/nlpa\/blog\/leverage-the-power-of-spend-analysis\/\">Spend Analysis<\/a>), and Supplier Management.\u00a0 Today, in 2014, there are at least the 10 that I\u2019ll be covering in this two part series.<\/p>\n<p>With this view, it is a beautiful thing that innovation continues with a full head of steam in the procurement profession.\u00a0 Ours isn\u2019t the sexiest profession on Earth, but there isn\u2019t a lack of bright-minded tech entrepreneurs giving us better ways to get procurement work done.<\/p>\n<p>Kudos to all of the innovators mentioned in the article!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I hope that you have enjoyed the article, \u201c10 Types [&hellip;]<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":12,"featured_media":4003,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"footnotes":""},"categories":[1],"tags":[],"class_list":["post-3309","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-procurement"],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO Premium plugin v19.4 (Yoast SEO v19.13) -
