{"id":3567,"date":"2017-04-05T17:35:21","date_gmt":"2017-04-05T17:35:21","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.certitrek.com\/nlpa\/2017\/04\/05\/why-do-your-subordinates-do-what-you-ask\/"},"modified":"2023-07-24T13:51:09","modified_gmt":"2023-07-24T17:51:09","slug":"why-do-your-subordinates-do-what-you-ask","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.certitrek.com\/nlpa\/blog\/why-do-your-subordinates-do-what-you-ask\/","title":{"rendered":"Why Do Your Subordinates Do What You Ask?"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Leadership is one of my favorite topics. \u00a0I love to study the psychology of what makes someone in a leadership position a true leader.<\/p>\n<p>Don\u2019t miss updates on Procurement &amp; Supply Chain, Subscribe here!<\/p>\n<p>So, if you\u2019re a procurement leader, I\u2019d like you to ponder a question about your leadership. \u00a0Think about your subordinates completing tasks that you assign.<\/p>\n<p>Why do they do what you ask?<\/p>\n<p>There are answers along a continuum ranging between two polar opposites. \u00a0They may do what you ask because they are inspired by your leadership. \u00a0Or they may do what you ask because it\u2019s less uncomfortable to just comply than to deal with you when they don\u2019t do what you ask.<\/p>\n<p>Which is the case with you and your subordinates?<\/p>\n<p>Sure, being a pain in the dupa can get things done. \u00a0But it\u2019s a short-term approach to leadership. \u00a0Actually, it\u2019s not true leadership.
