The NEBB Institute is proud to be an organization that upholds the highest standards of the appraisal industry. Our members comply with the Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice (USPAP), and we abide by the strictest professional ethics. These practices help maintain the trust necessary between appraiser and client in the professional appraisal practice.

Of course, we certify professionals in the art of machinery/equipment appraisal and brokerage. But for us, a one-time certification isn’t enough. Instead, a requirement of holding the CMEA title is that members attend a refresher course once a year.

A CMEA refresher course incorporates the art and science of machinery and equipment appraisals. Active participation and interaction among everyone in attendance is encouraged, and training topics include:

  • The ethics, rules, and regulations of the Uniform Standards of Professional Practice (USPAP)
  • Typical reasons for appraisals
  • The intricate steps involved in conducting an appraisal
  • Comparables
  • NEBBI’s Appraiser’s Database
  • The engagement and data collection
  • Sample appraisal report
  • Written review for CMEA professional certification

If you’re interested in CMEA training or setting up a refresher course in 2014, contact the NEBB Institute today, or click here for more information.

The NEBB Institute endorses and strives to observe the highest standards of professional ethics to preserve the public trust inherent in the professional appraisal practice. The Institute provides initial and monthly comprehensive education, ongoing support, and a dynamic international network, and certifies professionals in the art of machinery/equipment appraisal and brokerage.
