I seemed to set off a barrage of comments on the Strategic Sourcing & Procurement on LinkedIn when I posted a simple question without a one-size-fits-all answer: “Should You Share Your Selection Criteria and Weightings with Suppliers?“

I was glad to see procurement teams who have their selection criteria and weightings before issuing their RFPs. However, there are still some that only decide after receiving proposals, which is a red flag in the process. (chilltherapytampa.com)

So, one of the biggest challenges in determining the vendor selection fairness is knowing if the criteria and weightings are developed before the RFP issuance that may educate a procurement team about things they need to know and consider, or after the proposal receipt that may favor a certain vendor.
