A couple of weeks ago, I spoke with an individual who was interested in pursuing her SPSM Certification. But she had reservations. She worked in a service industry. And, in her experience, no purchasing training related to the services industries – just manufacturing.

Her belief that purchasing training is all geared towards manufacturing industries is really not an uncommon one. Unfortunately, there are many short-sighted purchasing associations out there that neglect the services industries.

Next Level Purchasing doesn’t. And we probably don’t make this as obvious as we could.

I thought it was interesting to consider the last ten companies that enrolled in their purchasers in the SPSM Certification Program…

1. Oil production
2. Energy services
3. Information technology services
4. Engineering services
5. Engineering services
6. Supply chain management services
7. Food products manufacturing
8. Shielding manufacturing
9. Health insurance services
10. Medical products manufacturing

Certainly not all manufacturers, right?

Why does the SPSM Certification Program appeal to both services and manufacturing industry purchasers?

Well, my own background is varied. My experience represents small , large, non-profit, services, manufacturing, privately-held, publicly-traded, and government-related organizations.

So, I’ve made sure that we provide training that serves both manufacturing and services industry purchasers.

And I think people have noticed!
