Supply & Demand Chain Executive recently published an interesting piece on the value of supply chain associations.  It gave a nice, balanced review of what is going on currently with three major associations in the space:  ISM, CSCMP, and, of course, the NLPA.

I was quoted on several topics, including how professional networking has evolved in today’s digital world and the value of procurement certification to both individuals and organizations.  My only disappointment with the article was that they discussed membership fees, noting CSCMP’s $295 per person annual fee, but didn’t mention that the NLPA is the only one of the three to offer a free membership option.  Other than that little tidbit, though, it really was an article worth reading if your interested in considering association membership as a way of fortifying your career and making a positive difference for your organization.
