The ISBA-NEBB 2025 Conference is more than an online event. In a field where accuracy and credibility matter more than flash or flair, what stands out year after year is the quality of our conversations. This fall, the ISBA and NEBB Institute communities will gather once again virtually to do what we do best: ask questions, share what works, and connect with peers who take this work as seriously as we do.
Registration is now open for the ISBA-NEBB 2025 Conference, taking place online via Zoom on October 21–22, 2025.
Not a Lecture Series. A Space for Honest Dialogue
Whether you’re knee-deep in machinery valuations or guiding clients through the nuances of business transition, the work can often feel isolated. And yet, when you meet others doing the same thing—navigating standards, client demands, deadlines, and judgment calls—there’s a quiet sense of recognition.
That’s the value of this conference.
“There’s no magic bullet in valuation,” says Howard Lewis, Director of ISBA. “But what we do have is a committed network of professionals who are willing to share what’s working for them and ask the right questions together.”
A Collective Experience Built by the Community, for the Community
This isn’t about filling a CE quota or passively absorbing content. Instead, the 2025 conference creates room for:
- Thoughtful conversation across business and equipment valuation disciplines
- Candid discussion of professional frustrations and field-tested workarounds
- Building trust with others who understand the pressure of delivering accurate, defensible reports
“This event is one of the rare times when the appraisal community puts competition aside,” says Chris Rials, Director of the NEBB Institute. “We’re not trying to outshine one another. We’re here to improve the field together.”
A Look at What’s on the Line-Up
The 2025 agenda reflects what valuation professionals need right now—clear-eyed insight, cross-disciplinary learning, and actionable tools that translate into stronger practice.
Kicking off the ISBA-NEBB 2025 Conference, with opening remarks from Howard A. Lewis (ISBA) and Chris S. Rials (NEBB Institute), the program is anchored in a shared commitment to elevate the professional community, not just the credentials.
Several standout sessions include:
- “Discounts – Present Value Theory Applied“ will challenge conventional valuation methods by centering the security’s cash flow as the key determinant. Appraisers will gain a more grounded approach to exit date modeling and discount rate selection.
- In “Using Modern AI Effectively, Efficiently, and Expertly to Get More Done,” technology educator Tom Carpenter will explain how valuation professionals can use large language models like ChatGPT and Claude to streamline analysis, discovery, and reporting while avoiding common pitfalls.
- For those focused on visibility and growth, “AI Enhanced Marketing – Positioning Your Appraisal Services in a Noisy Market“ will offer techniques to generate smarter, not louder, outreach that helps appraisers build trust and cut through generic messaging.
- And in “Using Excel for Regression Analysis,” veteran appraiser and banking valuation lead Philip Dellamedaglia will walk attendees through practical applications of regression models using the tools many appraisers already rely on.
Additional sessions will explore topics ranging from cybersecurity and PPI fundamentals to succession planning and lending-readiness frameworks, all designed with the working appraiser’s real challenges in mind.
Who This Is For
If you’re a:

- Experienced appraiser seeking perspective, not platitudes
You’ll find something valuable here. It doesn’t matter if you come with a question, a challenge, or just a willingness to listen. This is a space designed to meet you where you are.
