This innovative credential is designed to redefine the landscape of the US business appraisal community by equipping appraisers with the skills and knowledge they need to meet the evolving demands of the industry.
Dates and Speakers Announced
The BCA-R credential integrates rigorous online coursework with hands-on practical experience, providing appraisers with a comprehensive understanding of business appraisal review principles and practices. The inaugural BCA-R workshop will be held from December 5-8, 2023, and will be led by business appraisal subject matter experts (SMEs) Howard A. Lewis, ISBA Director, and Ronald D. Rudich, a leading expert in the valuation of closely held businesses, litigation support services, and machinery and equipment appraisals.
The BCA-R program is designed primarily for seasoned appraisers seeking to enhance their skills in the field. Participants will gain a deep understanding of business valuation principles, valuation approaches, financial analysis, and appraisal review checklists. They will also engage in hands-on case studies to further enrich their understanding.
Course Outline
The 4-day event promises an immersive experience. Day 1 will kick off with a thorough introduction to business appraisal review, guiding participants in translating business appraisal knowledge to effective review practices. The day concludes with a deep dive into industry Standards and Ethics. On Day 2, the focus shifts to building credibility through discussions on appraisal review checklists and the nuances of crafting a comprehensive review report. Attendees will receive a homework assignment, debriefed on Day 3, enhancing their practical application of the concepts. Day 3, on the other hand, is dedicated to the presentation and discussion of homework assignments, reinforcing the practical application of learned concepts. Attendees will engage in the review and discussion of two reports and explore a sample BCA-R report. Lastly, the workshop concludes on Day 4 with insights into business practices in appraisal review, ensuring participants are well-versed in industry best practices. The day concludes with a comprehensive review session in preparation for the examination.
